Sister M. Rembert Was BVM Nun for Over 60 Years
Sister Mary Rembert Salz, B.V.M., age 83, died Thursday November 21, at Marian Hall Infirmary Dubuque. Funeral Mass was held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, at Marian Hall Infirmary Chapel.
Sister Mary Rembert (Florence Salz) was born in Waterloo, January 16, 1891, of the late John J. Salz and Anna Burchinsky.
She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on March 19, 1913, from Waterloo.
Sister taught in grade schools of the Community in Sioux City, Des Moines, San Francisco, Chicago, Lincoln, Nebraska, Manly and Marcus. She moved to Marian Hall in September, 1966.
Sister is survived by one sister, Mrs. Pat Doherty of Waterloo.
