Scripture services for Andrew Salz, 77, who retired in 1950 after 30 years as a salesman of automotive electrical parts at Dubuque, Iowa, will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Gregory's Church, 3426 N. 18th Ave. Burial will be St. Francis Cemetery.
Mr. Salz, of 818 W. Osborn, had worked in Scottsdale as a real estate salesman from 1950 to 1955 and as a resort manager from 1955 to 1959. A native of Waterloo, Iowa, who came to Phoenix 23 years ago, he died Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital.
A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Salz was a member of the American Legion in Scottsdale, the Elks lodge in Dubuque and a past member of the 40-and-8 Club in Dubuque.
Suriviors inclusde his wife, Magdalen K.; a son, Joseph of Phoenix; three daughters, Mrs. Annette Lawnsdale of Santa Ana, Calif., Phyllis Salz of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Evelyn Green of Dubuque; two sisters out of state; and 23 grandchildren.

ANDREW L SALZ
Word has been received here of the death of former Waterloo resident Andrew L. Salz, who died Saturday of a stroke in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Salz, 77, had lived in Phoenix for the past 23 years.
He was born April 29, 1896, the son of J. Joseph and Anna Salz. He married Magdalene Schmitz July 6, 1921.
A World War I veteran, he was employed here by Central Battery and Electric Co. He later moved to Dubuque to manage another Central Battery outlet.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Joseph of Phoenix; three daughters, Annette Lawnsdale of Santa Ana, Calif., Phyllis Salz of Houston, Tex., and Evelyn Green of Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Doherty of 308 Walnut St., and Sister Mary Rembert Salz of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one sister, and three brothers.
Burial was Tuesday in Phoenix.

Funeral services for Andrew L. Salz, 77, formerly of Waterloo, were held in St. Gregory's Church in Phoenix January 8.
Mr. Salz was born April 29, 1896 in Waterloo. He is survived by his wife Magdalen (Schmitz), one son, A of Phoenix, and three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Annette) Lawnsdale of Santa Ana, California, Phyllis Salz of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. J. P. (Evelyn) Green of Dubuque; two sisters, Sister M
Rembert, B V M. of Marian Hall in Dubuque, and Mary Dougherty of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by a son Donald.
Mr. Salz is a cousin of Msgr. Luke B. Striegel who resides in Dubuque.
