Funeral services were held Friday morning in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ashton for Clarence Richter, 39, of Ashton, who died in a tractor accident January 6.
Father Klein was in charge of the services and graveside rites were conducted by Father Leo J Berger or Sibley. Pallbearers were Norbert Honkomp, Vic Tremmel, George Tremmel, Jack Henze, Harold Seivert and Richard Bangert. Honorary pallbearers were Wm. Seivert, Leo Penning, John Strouth. Alvin Strouth, Gilbert Wallrich and Eddie Klein. Burial was in the Ashton Catholic cemetery.
Clarence Richter, son of Mr. Lou Richter, was born on a farm near Ashton on April 12, 1919. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School.
On February 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Caroline Behrens of Little Rock, in St. Andrews Church in Sibley. To this union was born one daughter, Clara Ann.
They moved to Wall Lake, Ia., where he was engaged in farming for seven years, moving back to Ashton in 1957. He was presently employed at the Priebe Produce Plant in Sibley.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by his father, four brothers, Alvin of Emery, S. Dak., Elmer of Sheldon, Bernard and Norbert of Ashton, two sisters, Mrs. Victor (Mildred) Marnach of Little Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Dan (Marcella) Luton of Columbus, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his mother, who passed away November 15, 1958.
