STREIT-RICHTER VIWS SPOKEN AT ASHTON APRIL 22
A lovely spring wedding was solemnized at Our Lady or Perpetual Help church at Ashton on Tuesday, April 22 at 8:15 o'clock when Miss Kathleen Streit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Streit became the bride of Cpl. Norbert A. Richter, son or Mr. ,and Mrs. Lou Richter both of Ashton. Msgr. E. J. Neppl officiated at the nuptial mass following the double ring ceremony. A large number of relatives were in attendance.
Nuptial music was furnished by Sister M. Lucia O. S. F. organist, who played the processional and the recessional and accompanied the choir and the Senior Glee Club of St. Joseph's as they sang the "Mass of the Shepherds." The offertory hymn, "Panis Angelicus" was sung by Mary Ann and Carlis Roth, cousins of the bride.
Following the nuptial mass the groom accompanied his bride to the altar or the Blessed Virgin. While Jim Hatting, cousin of the groom sang "Ave Marla" the bride presented a bouquet of snapdragons to the Blessed Virgin.
The bride was lovely in a traditional gown of white slipper satin which had lace applique in leaf design, nylon net yoke, and long tight-fitting sleeves. Her gown was fashioned on princess lines with self covered buttons down the back and the full skirt which ended in a long, circular sweeping train. Her finger tip veil or bridal illusion had a tiara of seed pearls and satin.
Her bridal bouquet consisted of talisman roses entwined in white satin ribbon. She wore a necklace of pearls, gift of the groom, and carried a white pearl rosary, a gift of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Alyea and Rae Maree of Sioux City, Iowa. Also relatives and friends attended from Sheldon, Sibley, Melvin and Ashton.
Mrs. Richter who is a graduate or St. Joseph's High school, Ashton has been employed at the Walker Manufacturing company at Racine, Wis. Cpl. Richter, also a graduate of St Joseph's has been in service since January 1951 and spent 10 months in Korea.
Cpl. and Mrs. Richter left fpr a brief wedding trip and plan to leave for Fort Sheridan, Ill. next Wednesday where Cpl. Richter will report for duty.

NORBERT A. RICHTER
Norbert "Norbie" Richter, 61 of Sioux Falls, S. Dak. died April 19 at his home. Services were held April 23 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church of Ashton with Fr. Joseph Kerwin officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, under the direction of Andringa Funeral Home of Sheldon.
Norbert Richter was born November 25, 1928 in Ashton, Ia. to Louis and Ann (Hatting). He graduated from St. Joseph school in 1947. He served in the army during the Korean war, where he received a purple heart and two clusters. On April 22, 1952, he married Kathleen Streit in Ashton. He farmed in Ashton and later worked in Land-O-Lakes soybean plant in Sheldon, before moving to Sioux Falls in 1985 He was a member of St. Michael's in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include: his wife; four children: Dianne (Mrs. Michael) Lane, Indianola, Iowa; James of Sheldon; Ron, Loveland, Colorado; and Donna (Mrs. Douglas) Warner of Sioux Falls, S. Dak.; six grandchildren; one sister, Mildred (Mrs. Vic) Monarch, Ashton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
