Dolores Mary Van Eschen, 89, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was born Sept. 8, 1927, to Louis James and Margaret Barbara Geib Salz. On June 18, 1952, she married Henry G. Van Eschen at St. Mary's in Waterloo.
Survived by: her husband, of Vinton; her children, Peggy (Don) Weideman of Vinton, Kathy Mossman of North Liberty, Marie (Brian) Bohnsack of Phoenix, Tom Van Eschen of Vinton, and Jolene Van Eschen (friend Gary Beckley) of North Liberty; her grandchildren, Charlie (Katie) Weideman, Jeff (Maggie) Weideman, Kristin Mossman, Michelle (Aaron) Campbell and Julina Bohnsack; her great-grandchildren, Georgia Weideman, Griffin and Beau Henry Weideman, and Kaiden and Kole Campbell; her sister, Winifred Mulvehill of Waterloo; and her brother, Jim (Cecile) Salz.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, both in Vinton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Vinton, where there will be a 4 p.m. Virgil service.
Memorial fund: has been established for St. Mary's Catholic Church and Virginia Gay Hospital Foundation.

Dolores was devoted to her family, loved baking. sewing, ceramics, making crafts, bowling, golfing and playing bridge.
