Miss Glady's O'Mera, who has been making her home the last few years with the James H. Smith family south of town was stricken suddenly with appendictis and was operated on last Saturday night. She unable to stand the operation, however, and passed away Sunday afternoon, in spite of all that medical aid could do for her. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Sacred Heart church, interment following at the cemetery. She was a bright little lady about seventeen years of age, and her sudden death was a shock to everyone. The sorrowing relatives and friends have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.

Undertaker M.S. Huie was called to Alvord Tuesday to attend the funeral of Miss Gladys O'Meara who died Sunday at the James Smith home near Alvord after an operation for appendicitis the day before. The deceased was quite well known here having at one time attended St. Mary's school at this place
