The death of Mr. John Slavin, which occurred on June 28th, and to which a brief reference was made in our last issue, removed a very highly esteemed resident of Oxford, and one of its oldest citizens.
Born at Throoptown in 1837, he moved to Marlborough, at the age of 12 years. There he resided until 1884, since when he has been a residet of this vicinity.
His wife, Miss Catharine O'Meara, predeceased him five years.
