Miss Mary Evelyn Wiggerman, 48, of 415 W. Findlay Street, died of virus pneumonia at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, May 7, 1961, in Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, where she was admitted last Thursday afternoon. Though she had not been feeling well for the past two months, her death came as a shock to her many Carey friends.
Miss Wiggerman was born Dec. 11, 1912, in Loretto, Tenn., a daughter of John F. and Rose (Lamprecht) Wiggerman and came to Carey 38 years ago. She was secretary in the office of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, a position she had held for the past 28 years.
She leaves her mother, with whom she resided, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Catherine) Weber of Dayton and Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Phillips of Melbourne Beach, Fla. Her father and a sister are deceased.
Miss Wiggerman was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, the Rosary-Altar Society of the parish and the Third Order of St. Francis.
Funeral services were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Our lady of Consolation Church by the Rev. Hubert Kobunski, OFM Conv., pastor. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, the Goff Funeral Home having been in charge of arrangements.
