Requiem mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic church for B. J. Koelsch, 81, of 4501 SW 29. Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Smith & Kernke funeral home, and burial will be in Conception cemetery.
A pioneer Oklahoma City resident, Koelsch died Monday in an Oklahoma City hospital after a seven-year illness.
Koelsch moved to Oklahoma City with his family in 1891 and had lived at his home address for 66 years. He was born in Loretta, Tenn.
A farmer all his life, Koelsch had been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic church since 1892. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January 1956.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie, of the home; three sons, Ed R. of 2736 NW 22, Bill and Bob Koelsch, both south of the city; two daughters, Mrs. Leo Gengler, 3013 NW 16 and Mrs. George A. Rueb, 3504 NW 19; two brothers, August, southwest of the city, and Harmon, 933 East drive; a sister, Mrs. Monica Hickey, 117 NW 9; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
