A lifetime resident of the area, she had previously been employed as a secretary for various businesses, and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.

She is survived by husband, Joseph; daughters, Kathy Vorhes and Teresa Vorhes, both of Marco Island, Fla.; sons, Robert Vorhes of London, Ohio, Scott Vorhes of Akron; grandchildren, Kristy, Heather, Scott, and Kara; and sister, Mary Ann of Akron.

Calling hours 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Dunn-Quigley-Ciriello & Carr, Akron Grant Street Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 1 p.m., at St. Paul's Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
