Robert Edward Vorhes, 77, of Ft. Myers, Fla., passed away Dec. 21, 2004.
He was born in Akron, Ohio, on Feb. 18, 1927. He worked at Firestone for 24 years, and was a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army, and moved to Florida after retirment in 1981.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, D. Virginia Vorhes, and children, Robert Vorhes of Columbus, Ohio, Kathy Vorhes of Ft. Myers, Fla., Scott Vorhes of Akron, Ohio, Teresa LeCrone of Naples, Fla. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, as well stepchildren, Mark Jennings of Akron and Deborah Thompson of Rosebud, Mont.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
A service of remembrance will be held at a later date in Akron, Ohio.
