Mrs. Rufus Trebon - Obituary
Mrs. Rufus Trebon, whose maiden name was Augusta Ortman, was born March 15, 1850 in Germany. In her infancy she was baptized in the name of the [...] God. As a little girl she came to America with her parents, settling in Wisconsin. Later she came to Fairbank, and here she was linked in marriage with Rufus Trebon, January 1, 1872. This union was blessed with 4 sons and 1 daughter. Her husband, one son and the daughter have already preceded her into eternity. She departed this life August 28 at the St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo at the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure: three sons: George, Edward, and Arthur, all of Fairbank; two brothers: Frank Ortman of Waterloo, and Fred Ortman of Oelwein, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in St. John's Lutheran church Monday morning at 9:30 A. M. conducted by Rev. H. J. Heilman, burial in the Catholic cemetery by her husband.
