Services for Mrs. Harry Lyon, 59, who died at her home Friday evening, were held from the Devaney funeral home to Sacred Heart church Monday morning at 9:30. Rev. Eugene Lorenz, pastor, offered the requiem mass, delivered the sermon and officiated at the grave in Sacred Heart cemetery.
Active pallbearers included M. J. Hogan, George Harris, William Jarrett, Joe Barron, Gerhard Freese and John Welter. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. M. F. Hogan, M. B. Leonard, Dr. A .P. Lambert and J. J. Locher.
Mrs. Lyon, the former Olive Trebon, was born Dec. 24, 1892 at Fairbank, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Theresa (Polark) Trebon. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception high school at Fairbank.
On Nov. 27, 1919 she was married to Harry Lyon by Msgr. Halpln, in the Immaculate Conception church, Fairbank. After their marriage the couple lived in Dubuque before moving to Monticello 10 years ago.
Until the time of her death she was vice-president of the Dyersville Deanery of the A.C.C.W. and active member of the Monticello V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Mary Ann) Broulik, of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Don, of Montgomery, Ala., and Jack of Davenport, and a granddaughter, Debbie Broulik, three nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
