I have very little doubt this is the correct record. DOBs are correct (Joseph) or consistent (Christy)...but the "Married 25 years and 2 children" part confuses me as well.

MRS. J. W. GRIFFITH, 58, DIES AT INDEPENDENCE
Independence, Ia.
Mrs. J. W. Griffith died at her home here Saturday morning at 5:30 after an illness of about two years from heart trouble. The funeral be at the Swan & Leytze mortuary Monday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. F. E. Hamlin officiating. Christy A. Wagner was born near Fairbank, Ia., Aug. 28, 1873, and had lived in Buchanan county all her life. In 1898 she was married to Joseph W. Griffith, at Independence, her husband surviving her. Two children were born to them, Oden R., 31, and Luverne W., 27, both of Fort Wayne, Ind. Mrs. Griffith was a member of the Methodist church and a member of Lillium lodge, Daughters of the Rebekah.
