The body of Mrs. William Reid, 45, was found at 3:30 p. m. yesterday in the rear yard of her farm home, one and one-half miles east of the city limits, on the Newell street road, by her two sons, Robert, 12, and Clair, 10. She had died from a heart attack, a physician said.
She had shown no symptoms of distress at noon, and previously had enjoyed good health. Her husband had returned to the field following the noon meal. Death had occurred after she had finished the early afternoon household chores. The farm on which the Reids reside is the former James Black farm.
Elizabeth Mae Wagner, daughter of William James and Amelia Wagner, was born Jan. 14, 1889, in Lester township, Black Hawk county, Iowa, and had been a resident of Black Hawk county all her lifetime.
She was married to William Reid Aug. 14, 1915, in Waterloo. She was a member of Grace Methodist Episcopal church at Independence, Ia.
Besides her husband and two sons previously mentioned, another son, Maurice, 18; a brother, William James Wagner, Dunkerton Ia., and five sisters: Mrs. O. P. Snader, 421 Conger street; Mrs. C. W. Satterlee, Ida Grove, Ia.; Mrs. Thomas Hill, Independence; Mrs. William Alcorn, Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Jess Foster, Waverly, Ia., survive.
Her parents and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Griffith, Mrs. Tillie Croffart, Mrs. Ella Polege and Mary Wagner, infant, preceded Mrs. Reid in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the O'Keefe & Towne chapel with Rev. Thomas Shaffer, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church, in charge. Burial be in Memorial Park cemetery.
