ALDEN
Carl Conrad Adix, 81, a prominent farmer in Mansfield Township, died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday in his home. He had been ill about four months following a stroke.
Mr. Adix was clerk of the town 27 years and secretary of creamery 34 years. He was a member of Mansfield Lutheran Church and had been superintendent of the Sunday school 40 years.
A native of Iowa he was born Feb. 12, 1885 at Buck Creek in Bremer County. He had also lived at Andrew, Iowa before coming to Mansfield 57 years ago. He had attended Andrew High School and Wartburg College at Waverly, Iowa.
Mr. Adix and Lullo Janssen were married April 24, 1909 at Andrew. She preceded him in death Jan. 12, 1919. He married Harriet Tribon in 1924 at Waterloo, Iowa. She survives him.
Other survivors are three sons, Paul of Britt, Iowa, Max of Alden and Carl C. Jr., Yorktown, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Helen) Elvebak, Alden and Mrs. Alfred (Christabel) Jacobs, Fergus Falls; a brother, Fritz of Yorktown and 21 grandchildren.
His father died Sept. 10, 1908, and his mother Jan. 10, 1909.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mansfield Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. George J. Fiestner will officiate.
