Pearl J. Haffner, 98, of Ackley, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Oct 18, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born April 27, 1900, near Sumner, daughter of Joseph and Anna Barbara Nuffer Tribon. She married Herbert C. Haffner on Aug. 16, 1923, in Nashua. He died Nov. 21, 1984.

Survived by: three daughters, Verdice B. Wood of Pine Top, Ariz., Zona Whitehead of Urbandale and Jane B. Nassen of Iowa Falls; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Annette P. Gager; and a brother, Clifford Tribon.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to church of Haffner Scholarship Fund.
