Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Swan funeral home for Herman G. Trebon, 80, retired farmer of this city, who died at People's hospital on Sunday. Final rites took place at the Lutheran church with the Rev. Roald Braulick officiating. Burial was in the Littleton cemetery.
Mr. Trebon was born in Buchanan county Jan. 7, 1867, son of William and Wilhemmena Trebon. Both of his parents were born in Germany.
He married Augusta Imme in the Fairbank Lutheran church in Sept. 17, 1890.
Mr. and Mrs. Trebon celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at Independence in 1940.
Mrs. Trebon and one child preceded him in death.
Surviving Mr. Trebon are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Abel Kruse and Minnie A. Trebon of Independence; Edward R. Trebon of Santa Maria, Calif., Elmer Trebon of New Hall and Irvin W. Trebon of Frederick, Wash.
Six grandchildren also survive: Norman Budke of Waterloo; Mrs. Marlene Terhune of Cedar Falls; Audrey Trebon of Milwaukee; Owen Miller, Jr. of Waterloo.
One great grandchild, LaDel Terhune of Cedar Falls, also survives.
Pall bearers at the funeral were Emil and Will Gosse, Herman Brock, Jule Sosset, Emil Fratzke and Del Bright.
