John A. Beierschmitt, Obituary
John A. Beierschmitt, 66, died at his home here, Monday April 18, after a long illness of a heart ailment and complications. He was born on the farm 2½ miles west of Fairbank, where he spent his entire life. The farm is now operated by his son Walter. He leaves surviving him his widow, three sons, Walter and Neil, Fairbank, and Ralph, near Waterloo; three daughters, Sister Mary Annette, who is instructor at St. Patrick's School in Elkader; Mrs. Harold Jamerson, Waterloo; and Miss Irma Beierschmitt, also in Waterloo; five grandsons, four sisters, Mrs. John J. Kane, and Mrs. Matilda Welch, both from near Fairbank; Mrs. Mary Murtagh, Algona; and Mrs. Veronica Conway, Hartford, Kans. One daughter, Annette, preceded her father in death on March 26, 1917.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, April 20, at 9:30, in the Immaculate Conception Church at Fairbank, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father W. J. Torpey. Casketbearers were G. F. Monroe, M. E. Leehey, Dem Mersch, George Neil, Charles and Henry Goeller. The burial was made in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Fairbank.
