Doxie-Trebon Nuptials At Fairbanks Today
The marriage of Miss Lucille Doxie to Chas Trebon, which took place at 7:00 this morning at the Immaculate Conception church in Fairbank, is of interest to many friends of the bride in independence and vicinity. She is the daughter of the late P.M. Doxie who was shot and killed by burglars in this city in 1897, while he was serving as assistant marshall. She was born here, but not long after her father's death her mother, Mrs. Henry Thompson, moved to Waterloo and later to Dubuque, so only her very early years were spent here. However, she has been a frequent visitor with relatives and has many friends here to extend hearty good wishes. She has been a private switchboard operator in St. Bantz, north of the city. Since November, she has been employed in Fairbank. The groom is the son of Mrs. Anna Trebon and most of his life has been spent in that vicinity. He recently purchased the Jacob Smith farm near Otterville, where he and his bride will go to housekeeping at once.
The bridal couple were supported by Miss June McClaine, a cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid and Mr. H. Wieser of Fairbank as bestman. Following the ceremony relatives and immediate friends were entertained at 1:00 at a splendid wedding dinner at the Frank Bantz home. Guests present were: Mrs. Henry Thompson, the bride's mother and Harold Thompson, her brother, both of Dubuque; Mrs. Anna Trebon, Henry and Gus, brothers of the groom, Father Halpin and Mr. and Mrs. J. Beierschmitt and all of Fairbank.
