Mrs. John Brick passed away at her home in Lost Island township on Thursday everning at 9:40. Ten days previous to her death, Mrs. Brick became the mother of a baby girl and the happiness in the Brick home was turned to anxiety when the mother contracted the flu, and then to the sorrow as the angel of death entered the home. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at Our Saviour's Lutheran church in Lost Island township. The pastor, Rev. M Mandsager, officiated at the last sad rites. Interment was made in the parochial cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended and many beautiful and costly floral decorations were in evidence.

She was a member of the Episcopal church but some time ago affiliated with the Luthern church as her children attended Sunday school in Lost Island and it was her wish to be laid to rest in the Lost Island cemetery. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her death four children. They are: Ella Maye, Marjory Jane, John Thomas and Clara Frances. Her sad and untimely death is also mourned by four brothers and two sisters. The brothers are: Reginald, William, Frank and Theodore Thomas of Worthington, Iowa. Mrs. Brick was very highly regarded by all who knew her. She was active in the various affairs of her home community and she will be sadly missed by those among whom she lived and labored. She was a devout Christian, a noble mother and a loving wife. Neighbors and friends speak of her as a most estimable lady and deeply mourn her passing away. The heart broken husband and the four motherless children have the sincere sympathy of all in the sad affliction they have been called upon to bear. - Graettinger Times.
