Graveside services were held for Frances LaPoint on Sunday, September 26, 2004 Lost Island Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ruthven, Ia. Pastor Luther Thoresen officiated.
Frances Clair Bruck Nelson, the daughter of John N. and Ella Frances (Thomas) nelson was born January 7, 1929, at Lost island Township, Iowa and departed this life on July, 12, 2004, at Cedar City, Utah. at the age of 75 years old.
She received her education in the rural country school and then attended Ruthven High School.
On August 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Roderick G. LaPoint in Bremerton. Washington. After their marriage, the couple traveled the United States with Roderick serving in the military. After their retirement the couple lived in Twin Peaks and Escondido, California, before moving to Cedar City, Utah.
Left to cherish Frances's memory is her husband, Roderick G. LaPoint of Cedar City, Utah; one child; two grandchildren: sisters Ella Mae Beck and her husband, Roy of Graettinger. Iowa; Marjorie Bruck of Graettinger.
She has been preceded in death by her parents, brother and son.
