FAIRBANK
Robert Charles Trebon, 78, died Friday evening, March 19, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank, with the Rev. Ken Stecher officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military honors conducted by Fortsch Duffy Post 552, Fairbank American Legion. Friends may call from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, with a 3 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. scripture service.
Robert was born Sept. 25, 1925, at Fairbank, the son of Arthur and Gertrude Duffy Trebon. He graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Fairbank then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Frances Buck on Nov. 27, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Church in Fairbank. Robert was a lifelong rural Fairbank resident, retiring from Construction Machinery Co. in Waterloo, in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; four sons, Rick (Julie) Trebon of Wadena, Charles (Connie) Trebon of Washbum, Don (Julie) Trebon of Waterloo and David (Joan) Trebon of Jesup; four daughters, Kay (Pat) Ledesma of Oelwein, Colleen (Terry) Nagel of Jesup, Char (Rick) Colby of Wall Lake and Susy (Brad) Buzynski of Maynard; 24 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and two brothers, Al (Ann) Trebon of Tucson, Ariz., and Art (Shirley) Trebon of Beverly Hills, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jordan Trebon; three brothers, Dale, Frank and Paul Trebon; and one sister, Damaris Marsch. Memorials may be directed to the family.
