Robert L. Marsch, 71, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Covenant Medical Center of complications of emphysema.
He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Waterloo, son of Louie and Emma Niemann Marsch. He married Damaris Trebon Nov. 15, 1952, in Waterloo. He was owner and president of Takin Bros. Transfer & Storage-Mayflower in Waterloo. He began with Takin Bros, in 1948 and semi-retired in 1991.
He was past president of the Waterloo Transportaion Club in 1966 and president of the Iowa Warehousemen Association in 1980-81. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
Survivors include: his wife; three daughters, Mary Ann Brincks of Carroll, Diane Marsch of Wanblee, S.D., and Laurie Marsch of Waterloo; a son, Thomas of Hudson; five grandchildren; and a brother, Vern of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: two sisters, Darlene Jacklin and Pauline Marsch; and a brother, Paul.
Services: are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service/West Ridgeway, where there will be a 6 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.
