Ella Mae Bruck Married to Roy Beck at Spencer, Ia.
Sunday afternoon Jan. 27th, a few close friends and relatives gathered at the English Lutheran church at Spencer to witness the marriage of Miss Ella Mae Bruck to Roy Beck.
The bride is the daughter of John N. Bruck of Ruthven and the groom is the son of George A. Beck of Spencer.
Rev. O.C. Geisler, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The wedding march was played by Marvin Hartman, and preceding this Violet Henkel sang "Because." Following the ceremony, Violet and Regina Henkel sang "I love You Truly," accompanied by Marvin Hartman.
Miss Dorothy Scott, a friend of the bride and Ralph Beck, a cousin of the groom, were attendants. John J. Bruck, brother of the bride, and Milo Myers, cousin of the groom, were ushers.
The bride chose a teal blue suif with black accessores, and wore a corsage of gardenias. Miss Scott wore a light blue suit with black accessories, and her corsage was made of pink carnations.
The groom and best man wore dark blue business suits, and they and the ushers wore white carnation boutonnieres.
Mr. and Mrs. Beck are not planning a wedding trip until a later date, due to the recent death of the groom's mother. They are llving in their home at S34 East Fifth street, at Spencer.
In the evening about thirty invited guests gathered at thier home in honor of the marriage. The evening spent in visiting and giving advice, to the bride and groom. The Henkel sisters entertained with music and an aunt of the groom read an original poem on the romance of the bride and groom. Later in the evening, the guests were served ice cream and cake, the first piece of the wedding cake being cut by the bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Beck received some nice gifts.

GRAETTINGER
Funeral service for Roy Beck of Graettinger will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger. Interment will be in Lost Island Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church. The Henry Olson Funeral Home in Graettinger is in charge of arrangements.
Roy Orville Beck the son of George August and Minnie (Luke) Beck was born December 26, 1918 in Fostoria, Iowa. Roy departed this life of Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 96.
After going to Clay County School, he worked at the Egg Plant and met Ella Mae Bruck.
On January 27, 1946, Roy and Ella Mae were united in marriage. To this union one daughter was born. Roy and Ella Mae moved to a farm northeast of Ruthven.
Roy was a member of Lost Island Lutheran Church and Bethel Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish Roy's memory is one daughter, Shirley Loring and her husband, Frank of Emmetsburg; two grandchildren, Janelle Loring of Spencer; Michael Loring of Emmetsburg; and one great grandson, Timothy Godinez Loring of Spencer.
He has been preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae and his parents.
