Mardell Zewiske, Robert E. Crawford Marry At Fairbank
FAIRBANK
The Rev. Bernard Collins celebrated the nuptial mass when Mardell Louise Zewiske became the bride of Robert E. Crawford this morning.
The single ring ceremony was read in the Immaculate Conception church at Fairbank at 9 a.m. Music was by the male choir and Paul Peters was organist.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zewiske, Fairbank, and Edward Crawford, Waterloo.
Mr. Zewiske escorted his daughter to the altar. She wore a gown of nylon marquisette and lace fashioned with a lace jacket, long sleeves, with an apron effect in the front of the full skirt. The bodice featured appliqued bow-knots. Her fingertip veil was of illusion net and fell from a tiara of seedpearls. She carried a white prayer book, gift of the bridegroom, topped with a white orchid.
Maid of honor was Therese Zewiske, sister of the bride, Fairbank, she wore a yellow gown with a bolero jacket. Her net over satin gown was also styled with an apron effect in the front of skirt like that of the bride's. She carried white carnations. Faynelle Hoehn, cousin of the bride, Davenport, wore an orchid gown like that of the maid of honor. Her flowers were also identical.
Mary Kathryn Ambrosy, Traer, was flowergirl. She wore a gown of white net over taffeta styled similiar to that of the bride and her attendants and carried roses and sweetpeas.
Best man was Edwin Zewiske, brother of the bride. Robert Marsch was attendant and ushers were Richard Ambrosy, Eagle Center, cousin of the bride and Robert Thorp, Waterloo, friend of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Zewiske wore a navy blue lace ensemble with white accesseries and a corsage of red roses for her daughter's wedding.
A dinner was served at Pine Lodge where a three-tiered wedding cake, decorated in yellow and orchid, was centered on the main table.
After a wedding trip to Canada the couple will live at 232 Leland Ave. Waterloo.
Mrs. Crawford is employed in the credit department at Sears Roebuck in Waterloo and her husband is with the John Deere Tractor Works.

CEDAR FALLS
Robert E. "Bob" Crawford, 86, of Cedar Falls, died at home Sunday, Jan. 15.
He was born Jan. 14, 1926, in Waterloo, son of Edward J. and Ella Wilhelmina Nissen Crawford. He married Mardell Louise Zewiske on July 11, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank.
Mr. Crawford worked as a mechanic at John Deere Product Engineering Center, retiring after 39 years of employment.
Survived by: his wife; two sons, Michael (Ann) of Cedar Falls and James (Barbara) of Marion; and five grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Brandon, Alix Anne and Samantha Jo.
Preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Diane Marie Crawford; and his parents.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 5 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Bob was selected as one of the first group of men at the startup of the new Product Engineering Center that developed the New Generation Tractor in March 1955. He also was an avid bike rider, with more than 75,000 miles of "Time in the Saddle."
