Robert Beierschmitt, 21, of Fairbank, Ia., was killed instantly about 1:30 p. m. yesterday when his pickup truck failed to negotiate a turn four miles south of Quasqueton, Ia., and crashed into a ditch.
Beierschmitt, an artificial insemination technician, was traveling the Troy Mills road and failed to make a highway intersection, a highway patrolman said.
Investigating officers said poor visibility and icy road conditions caused the accident.
Coroner Dr. J. F. Loeck said Beierschmitt died immediately of a fractured skull, a fractured jaw and multiple cuts.
Hid badly damaged truck was found by two unidentified motorists who notified authorities.
Beierschmitt was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beierschmitt of Fairbank.
The body was taken to a Fairbank funeral home last night.
Funeral services for Robert Beierschmitt, 21, of Fairbank, who was killed on Saturday when his pickup truck upset in a ditch near Quasqueton, will be at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic church here; survivors include two brothers, James and Howard, and a sister Mary Sue, all of Fairbank; the body was taken to the O'Keefe & Towne funeral home at Waterloo.
