Maaske-Schemmer Wedding
A lovely wedding ceremony was performed at St. Mary's church on Tuesday morning at 8:00 o'clock, when Miss Inez Maaske, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Maaske of Mason City, became the bride of Walter Schemmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Schemmer of Rock Valley. Rev. Father Forester officiated at the ceremony. The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white velvet and long bridal veil and slippers of white, she carried a large bouquet of calla lillies. The groom was attired in the conventional dark suit.
Miss Lunetta Schemmer was maid of honor wore a dress of pale yellow satin, with hat and slippers of the same color, and carried yellow and white chrysanthemums. Miss Dollie Hinde and Miss Mary Zimmer of LeMars in costumes of pink satin, Miss Doris Bohrns of LeMars attired in peach net and Mrs. Cleone Zimmer of LeMars attired in a costume of green, acted as bride's maids.
Clarence Goldsmith, acted as best man. Dr. J.E. Akin of Hawarden, H. Poeckes of LeMars, C.H. Schemmer and Dr. R.M. Schutz of Rock Valley, served as ushers.
Mrs. H.A. Barnard sang "I Love You Truly" at the conclusion of the ceremony.
The wedding party then assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Schemmer, where a bountiful three-course breakfast luncheon was served under the supervision of Mrs. Patterson of LeMars, assisted by Misses Viola, Catherine and Margaret Schemmer.
Out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Maaske and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Barry of Logan, Iowa, Mrs. V. Cullin, Mrs. Pritchard and Miss Kathryn Strait of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Hinde and Mrs. Baldwin of LeMars.

Inez H. Schemmer
Inez H. Schemmer, 99, Logan, died July 31 at the Rose Vista Care Center, Woodbine.
Inez was born April 3, 1906 in Magnolia to Frank J. and Anna C. (Ehlert) Maaske. She attended school in Magnolia and graduated with the class of 1923. She was married to Walter A. (Wally) Schemmer, Nov. 26, 1935 in Rock Valley.
Inez was a sales clerk at Hedrick's Department Store. In 1948, Wally and Inez purchased a quarry and operated it as Schemmer Limestone Quarry for many years, retiring in 1993. Walter died Dec. 1, 1996.
Inez was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Logan. She enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, playing bridge, traveling and entertaining people in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; five sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include: her son; Carman and his wife, Ginger, Logan; brother, Ed Maaske, Logan; grandchildren; Renee Hiller and her husband, Rich, Logan; and children, Megan, Nic, Macie; Danielle Homes, Parker, Colo. and children, Max and Halley; Sharon Whitacre and her husband, Keith, Hudson, Ohio; and children, Michael and Heather; Susan Frazier and her husband, Brad, Jacksonville, N.C., and children, Brock, Madison, and Kacie.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 4 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Logan, Rev. Fr. Wayne Gubbels, celebrant. Musicians were the St. Anne's Choir.
Honorary bearers were: Ruth Heim, Gladys Archer, Doris Sears and Lola Dinsmore.
Casket bearers were: Rich Hiller, Max Holmes, Bill Brosnahan, Dennis Maaske, Jim Schwertley, and Floyd Foreman.
Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rock Valley.
Logan Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
