Loyd E. Klein, 55, lifetime resident of Rock Valley, died unexpectedly here Monday morning about 8:00 o'clock.
Mr Klein had reported for work but was absent for a time and was found in a rest room at Jim's Body Shop where he had died following a heart attack.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church.
Rev Richard Reinhart, pastor, officiated.
Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of the Porter funeral home.
Rosary was recited for Mr. Klein at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Klein was born October 21, 1908, at Rock Valley and lived here all his life.
He married Viola Schemmer in 1937, and worked for the state maintenance crew and the Farmers Lumber Co.
He was a veteran of the European theater of world war 2, where he was awarded the purple heart medal.
Survivors include the widow, four sons, David of Condon, Ore., Harlan of Collegeviile, Minn., Kenneth of New Orleans, La., and Leo of Vermillion, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Kersbergen and Mrs. Marzo Kessler, both of Rock Valley and Mrs. John E. Van De Weerd of Stockton, Ill.; four brothers, Carl of Fort Dodge, Ruben of Long Beach, Calif., and Arthur and Robert, both of Rock Valley and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr and Mrs. Fred Klein, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Kersbergen.
