ROCK VALLEY, Iowa
Miss Kathryn E. Schemmer, daughter of Mrs. A. F. Schemmer, became the bride of Floyd R. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rinehart Olson of Minneapolis at 9:00 o'clock Tuesday morning January 22nd.
The double ring ceremony was performed by Father David T. McGoey. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, C.H. Schemmer.
Mrs. Evelyn Warborg, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor and Delmar Olson, brother of the groom, acted as best man. Doris Keegan was the flower girl and Billy Warborg, ringbearer.
The bride was beautifully attired in a floor length gown of white brocaded satin with a short train. Her fingertip veil was fashioned with a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white mums with roses. The matron of honor wore a floor length blue taffeta gown with a net headdress to match. The groom wore a conventional dark suit.
The bride is a graduate of the Rock Valley Public School and for a time was employed in a local bank and later in Grand Meadow, Minn. For the past four years she has been employed in Shreveport, La., doing clerical work. The groom has been in service for three years with 20 months overseas service, and was recently discharged.
A three course wedding breakfast was served at 11:30 o'clock in the Gaspar home. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Rinehart Olson and Wesley, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Olson and Mrs. L.J. Stier of Grand Meadow, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Schemmer and son Carman of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Goldsmith, Karen and Mark of Mahnomen, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Olson left on a short wedding trip and they will make their home in Minneapolis, Minn.

Floyd R., age 79, resident of North Port, FL, formerly of Cannon Falls, MN. Preceded in death by grandson, Patrick Yorks. Survived by wife of 54 years, Kathryn; children, Nancy (Ken) Freel, Susan (Dick) Anderson, Paul (Sue), Glen (Mary), David (Debbie), Steven (Patty), Mark, Jim (Debbie); 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 brothers. Veteran of WWII; retired civil employee of US Air Force. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, Brooklyn Park. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 PM, with prayer service at 7 PM at the Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope. Visitation also one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Sharing & Caring Hands or a food shelf of your choice.
