The community was shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Peter Muilenberg of Sheldon. who passed away suddenly at St. Joseph's Hospital, at Sioux city, Ia., on Tuesday, December 4th at 4 o'clock in the morning.
Mrs. Peter Muilenburg, nee Regina Hatting was born at Ashton, Iowa, on January 9, 1915, where she grew to womanhood and attained the age of 30 years, 10 months and 27 years. She attended St. Joseph's School at Ashton. On November 27, 1937 she was united in marriage to Peter Muilenburg of Melvin. They have been making their home in Sheldon. She leaves to mourn her early departure, her husband, her father and one sister, Caroline, Mrs. William Keninger. her step-mother, four step-sisters, Bernadine, Margaret and Marcella of Ashton, Mrs. Joe Sheirholt of Sheldon. Four step-brothers, Pvt. Martin Hatting of Leyte Island, Pfc. Harold Hatting of camp Campbell, Kentucky, Charles and Donald of Ashton. Her mother and two step-brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church at Ashton Friday morning, Mgr. E.J. Neppel officiating. Interment was made in the Ashton cemetery.
Those attending the services from out of town were her mother, Pfc Harold Hatting, Mrs. Martin Hatting and son Robert, Frank Beeberger and son Frank and daughter Dorothy of Brooten, Minn., John Muilenburg of Lisbon N. Dak., and many relatives and friends.
