Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for Joseph C. Kotz, 91, who died Tuesday at Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home. Christian Mothers Rosary will be 5 p.m. today at the funeral home in Belgrade, followed by parish prayers at 8.
Joseph Kotz was born in Presho, S.D., to Henry and Kathryn (Kappenman) Kotz. He grew up in Presho. He married Gertrude Sweeney on Sept. 2, 1937. They moved to Belgrade where he farmed until retiring in 1984. He then moved into Belgrade and had been a resident of Belgrade Nursing Home since September 1995. He was a supervisor of Crow Lake Township Board, on the Creamery Board and Belgrade School Board. He was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Virginia Terhaar of Brooten, Monica Stanger of Watkins, Rosella Nelson of St. Augusta, Janet of St. Paul, Margaret Aukrust of Brooklyn Center, Kathy Antil of Fridley, Lori Lieser of Paynesville, Maxine Dahl, Gene and Brian of Blaine, Ron of Grantsburg, Wis., Vernon and Mark of Belgrade, and Wayne of Milani, Hawaii; 32 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Francis Reginetter of Presho, Margaret Thompson of Gainesville, Fla., and Sister Austin of Aberdeen, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie; four brothers; and two sisters.
