Mildred Lureta Kotz Karasek, 87, of Tipton died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at the Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton after a long illness.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton with the Revs. Eugene Benda and Jim Wilson. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tipton.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. A parish vigil service will begin at 3 p.m. A memorial has been established.
Mrs. Karasek was born Feb. 8, 1912, in Aurora, Neb., to Logan and Lureta (Prather) Garrison. She attended schools in Presho, S.D. She married Bernard Kotz on Oct. 14, 1930, in Presho. After his death, she later married William Karasek on Jan. 14, 1978, in Davenport. She a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Norman and Marilyn Kotz of Tipton; one daughter and her husband, Josephine and Howard Hensch of Simpsonville. S.C.; two brothers, Jay Garrison of Marion and Robert Garrison of Davenport; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husbands, one son, Donald Kotz; one sister, Donna Steiger; one brother, Lloyd Garrison; and one grandson, Mark Hensch, died earlier.
