Memorial mass to be held on Sept. 20 at 11:00 at St. Mary Help of Christians Church in St. Augusta. The family receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 at the church. Roz passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family.
Roz was a registered nurse and worked at the Virginia, Mn hospital prior to moving to St. Augusta where she was employed for many years at Opportunity Manor. She was an active participant in her church, loved traveling, and most of all quilting.
She is survived by husband John, originally from Brooten, and sons Chris (Tara) of Glenwood, Eric and Stephen of St. Augusta, and granddaughter Emily.
Her siblings are Ron (Jan) Kotz, Virginia (Ken) Terhaar, Butch (Mary) Kotz, Max (Don) Dahl, Gene (Becky) Kotz, Wayne (Marsha) Kotz, Janet Kotz, Margaret (Don) Aukrust, Mark (Mickey) Kotz, Kathy (Fournet) Antil, Lori (Brian) Lieser, and Brian (DeAnne) Kotz.
She is also survived by mother-in-law Marge Nelson of Glenwood and sister-in-law Linda (Delano) Jensen, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Monica Stanger and Julie Kotz and her father-in-law Elvin Nelson.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to the Coborn Cancer Center, Dr. Alkhatib and the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice program. Since Roz generously donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the U of M, a private interment will be held at a later date. Donations preferred to Goodwill/Easter Seal.
