Burial rites for the late Leland Bechthold, 43, of rural Belgrade were held on May 3, 1973 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Belgrade with Father Vogel officiating. Pallbearers were: Tom Ziebel, Donald Fredrick, Burton Larson, Robert Stang, Maurice Devitt and Lloyd Morin.

Leland was born June 17, 1929 at Presho, South Dakota. On October 16, 1953 he married Alvina Knudsvig from Brooten. He died April 30, 1973 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Alvina, two daughters, Veronica and Denise, one son, Wayne, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bechthold, two brothers, Jim of Belgrade, and Lyle of St. Paul and many other relatives.

Friends and relatives attending the services were from Presho, Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, Vivian So. Dak., Arizona, Mpls., St. Paul, Willmar, Anoka, Wisconsin, Coon Rapids Paynesville, Sedan, and Brooten.
