Frederick W. Wiemer, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died peacefully at home on October 19, 1999.
He was born in Rock Valley, Iowa on June 10, 1916, son of William F. Wiemer and Meta Hull Wiemer. As an infant he moved to Southern California where he was raised in Santa Ana. He graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1934, where he excelled in sports. He received an Athletic Scholarship to Brigham Young University, where he lettered in tennis, basketball, golf and track. After graduation from BYU in 1941, he went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was then called to serve his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. He married Geraldine Macfarlane on June 10, 1945 in Oakland, California. They are the parents of three sons and one daughter. After 35 years of service with Goodyear, he retired to Pleasant Grove, Utah and later to Apache Junction, Arizona.He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, Layton, Utah; his children, John (Marianne), Pleasant Grove, Utah; Diane (Walter) Larsen, La Canada, California; Randy (Sharon), Gilbert, Arizona; Mike (Karen), Layton, Utah; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 23, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, where friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
