BURLINGTON
David P. Oldenburg, 73, Burlington, died Aug. 12, 2013, at Vintage on the Pond in Delavan, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 1, 1939, in Burlington, to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Vos) Oldenburg. He attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 stationed in Korea.
On Oct. 1, 1966, at St. Mary's Catholic Church he married Mary Ann Borucki. He lived his entire lifetime in Burlington and worked as an iron worker and foreman for J & M Re-enforcing and Choice Construction.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Knights of Columbus, Iron Worker's Local #8 and for many years was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 364. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, wine making and particularity loved spending time at his cabin in Wyoming. His pride and joy were his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years; children, Donald Oldenburg, California, Barbara Oldenburg, Jeremy (Karen) Oldenburg, both Burlington; mother-in-law, Lucille Borucki, Burlington; daughter-in-law, Ginny Oldenburg, Janesville; grandchildren, Terrece, Morgan, Blayne, Evan and Isaac; his brother, Jim (Judy) Oldenburg, Burlington; brothers-in-law, Andrew (Earlita) Borucki, Prescott, Ariz., Robert (Peg) Borucki, New Glarus, Dennis (Becky) Borucki, Burlington, David (Karyn) Borucki, Burlington; sisters-in-law, Sharyn (Dennis) Jeffers, Burlington, Bev Borucki, Burlington; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his father-in-law, Andrew Borucki.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Allay Hospice, especially Shannon and Cathy, and the caring workers at Vintage on the Pond who made Dad's last month a vacation.
Visitation is Friday, Aug. 16, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, from 4 p.m., to 6:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Volkert officiating. Burial with full military honors is Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Cemetery.
