Lawrence F. "Larry" Ideker, 91, of Sioux Falls, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Covington Heights Nursing Home, Sioux Falls. Services have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday, August l, 2002, at Miller Funeral Home Valley View Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be July 31, 2002, from 1 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
Lawrence F. "Larry" Ideker was born February 6, 1911 at Hartford, SD, to John and Clara (Voelsch) Ideker.
Lawrence and his family moved to the Tea and Sioux Falls area where he grew up and attended school in the Harrisburg School District.
Lawrence was self-employed in farming and several other businesses. Lawrence married Catherine Ogden on August 31, 1936, at Lennox, SD. Lawrence enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Catherine of Sioux Falls; three sons: Donald and his wife, Patricia of Humboldt, SD, Sidney and his wife, Sharon of Sioux Falls, and Rodney and his wife, Joan of Florissant, MO; a daughter, LuAnn Hanson and her husband, Norman of Wilmot, SD; a brother, Leonard Ideker of Humboldt; four sisters: Ethel Dean of Sioux Falls, Vera Adamson of Sioux Falls, Eva Eisenberg of Engelwood, CO, and Jeannette Schievelbein of Phoenix. AZ; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mae; and four brothers: Howard, Lloyd, Curtis, and Ray.
