Robert N. Daniels, Kansasville, passed away on his 95th birthday, Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Born in Brighton Township on April 15, 1919, he was the son of Emil and Molly (Ketterhagen) Daniels. He has lived in Brighton his entire life and attended St. Francis Xavier School.
On June 12, 1943, he was united in marriage to Lorraine C. Richter at St. Marys Catholic Church in Burlington. They lived on the family farm where they raised their children. Lorraine preceded him in death Oct. 6, 2011.
Bob was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, AMPI, Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, was an avid woodworker and truly loved socializing with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Kathleen) Daniels, Diane (James) Eckhart, Thomas (Louise) Daniels, Allen (Charlene) Daniels, Joan (Tim) Warren, Jerome (Barb) Daniels and Dale (Donna) Daniels. He is further survived by 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, with two on the way, and siblings, Rose Agnes (Don) Vos, Rita Vos, Richard (Doris) Daniels and Romona Ludwig; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Daniels and Ann Richter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; brother, Art Daniels; sisters, Mary (Urban) Mich, Barbara (Ted) Thuemmler, Kathleen Daniels (infant); brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur Vos, Leo Ludwig, Clarence (Eleanor) Richter, Albert Richter, Loretta (Fred) Vogt and Sr. Vivian Richter.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church or Providence Grade School.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Art Rein, Dr. Nicholas Webber, Aurora VNA nurse Wendy McBride, physical therapist Glenn Rubach and Home Helpers of Burlington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brighton. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 8 p.m.
