A military memorial service for Edward Williamson, 92, was held June 4, 8 p.m., at the White Funeral Home. The service was conducted by Sheehan-Tidball American Legion Post No. 30 and Bechter-Boise V.F.W. Post No. 2440.
Funeral services will be held June 6, 1:30 p.m., at the White Funeral Home. The Rev. James A. Adix and the
Rev. Karl Kraft will officiate. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery.
Williamson died June 3 at the Independence Care Center. He was a long time resident of Independence.
He was born March 28, 1892, in Buchanan County, the son of George and Mary Williamson.
Williamson was a veteran of W.W. I where he served in the 88th infantry. He was a member of Sheehan-Tidball American Legion Post No. 30. In 1926 he married Alvena Wilhelmina Trebon and she preceded him in death in 1943.
Williamson is survived by two sons, Clark and Roger, both of Independence; and one sister, Mrs. Mae Hood of Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, two sisters and two sons.
