QUASQUETON
Francis E. "Swede" Reinhold, 74, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, 1998, at Peoples Memorial Hospital, Independence, of complications following a heart attack.
He was born Feb. 3, 1923, near Quasqueton, the son of Frank E. and Anna L.(Roof)Reinhold. He graduated from Quasqueton High School and entered the U.S. Navy. On Feb. 11, 1949, he married Audrey J.Trebon. The couple lived in various cities while he served in the Navy. He was discharged Oct 5, 1970, and the family returned to the Quasqueton area where he became employed with Lowell Walters as a caretaker at Cedar Rock. He continued as caretaker following the transfer of Cedar Rock to the Iowa State Department of Natural Resource.
Survivors include five childen, Pamela Longoria of San Antonio, Texas, Forrest of Iowa City, Leif of Hazleton, Devlin of Quasqueton, and Neil of Des Moines; one step-granddaughter; and a step great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Audrey, Dec. 20, 1986; two sisters, Mildred and Gladys Reinhold; and two brothers, Frank and William.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Union Church, Quasqueton, with the Rev. Paul Drake officiating. Burial was in the Quasqueton Cemetery.
The Reiff Funeral Home, Quasqueton, was in charge of arrangements.
