Marlene Y. Terhune, 86, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 16, at Allen Memorial Hospital of complications of heart disease.
She was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Independence, daughter of Irvin G. and Alice Trebon Kruse. She married Delmar "Del" Terhune on June 6, 1943, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miami, Fla. He died Aug. 5, 2003.
She graduated from Independence High School and attended Gates Business School. She worked in admissions at Covenant Medical Center; was a Santa Claus associate clerk; and owned and operated Pine Tree Motel with her husband.
She was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church.
Survived by: a son, Mark of Windsor Heights; four daughters, LaDel Hoyle of West Des Moines, Kathy (Tom) McGowan of Raymond, Tana Allsup of Waterloo and Janelle Ahrens of Iowa City; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a sister, Norma Budke.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
