Peggy Ann Holdiman Thompson, 86, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, June 2, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home due to complications of surgery due to a fall.
She was born September 8, 1928 in Waterloo, daughter of Joseph F. and Hulda Kaufmann Holdiman. She married Joseph H. Thompson on September 10, 1946 in Waterloo. He died in 2002.
Peggy graduated from Waterloo East High School. She worked at Rath Packing Company and later at May's Drug Store as an assistant manager.
Survivors include: three sons, Stanley L. (Joan) Thompson and Joseph F. (Lore) Thompson, both of Evansdale and Mark (Vicki) Thompson of Center Point; three daughters, Rozanne M. (Wayne) Irons of Jewel, Christine (Tim) Pieper of Waterloo and Gerri (Ron) Russell of Evansdale; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; a brother, Daniel Holdiman of Washington State; and a sister, Alice Holdiman of Decorah.
Preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; three sisters; a brother; and a grandson.
There will be a private family inurnment at Garden of Memories Cemetery followed by a celebration of life at 6 p.m. Friday at the Evansdale Amvets.
