Marvin Lee "Marv" Wissink, 86, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Friendship Village Med Center of cancer.
He was born May 3, 1928, in Dunkerton, son of Ludwig and Elsa Tribon Wissink. He married LaVone "Bonnie" Schmitt on Feb. 15, 1948, in Dunkerton.
Marv and Bonnie farmed the first eight years of their marriage in the Dunkerton area. He owned and operated Marv's Feed & Seed Inc. for 34 years, retiring in 1988. He taught confirmation at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bennington Township for many years.
Survived by three daughters, Vicki (Michael) Sickels of Mount Ayr, Jeanne (Daniel) Arkfeld of Westerville, Ohio, and Denise (Mark) Rutenbeck of Clinton; a son, John (Natalie) of Dunkerton; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven; two sisters, Emily Quigley and Joan Wissink in infancy; and two brothers, Lloyd and Albert.
Services 2 p.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Bennington Township. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ascension Lutheran Church and also for an hour before services Monday at the church. Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
