Funeral services for Leland D. LoveIl, 42, Rt. 1, Denver, were held Sunday, Jan. 18, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery by the Denver American Legion Post. He died Thursday night at Allen Hospital in Waterloo of cancer.
At the time of his death he was Assistant Scoutmaster of the Denver Boy Scout Troop, immediate past-commander of the Denver American Legion Post, member of the Titus Management Club, and V. F. W. He was factory supervisor at Titus Manufacturing Company.
Mr. Lovell was born April 12, 1921, in Des Moines. On January 11, 1952, he was married to Helen Tribon of Denver.
He is survived by his widow; son, Kenneth; his foster mother, Verlie Price Thompson, Collins, Iowa; three foster brothers, Paul Thompson, Vumitilla, Oregon; Cleon Thompson, Elkhart, Iowa and Clarence Thompson, Carlisle Iowa; two foster sisters, Darline Etnier, Collins and Doris Callison, Sumner; two sisters, Marion Ferguson and Kathryn French of Maxwell, Iowa; one half-brother and four half-sisters.
He was preceded In death by his mother and father, and his foster father. The family requested memorials In Lieu of flowers. Cleveland Funeral Home, Denver had charge of services.
