August T. Zimmerman, 63, died at his residence, 6425 Twelfth avenue, Tuesday evening following a prolonged illness. He was the son of the late Gottlieb and Amalie Kopp Zimmerman, and was born in Posen, Germany, on January 22, 1883.
At the age of 12 years,. he left his birthplace and came to America. He did farming in Somers township. From 1923 to 1943 he was employed at Peter Jacobs and Sons, and since then was employed by Certified Foods until November, 1945, when he retired due to ill health.
On July 12, 1910. he was united in marriage to Miss Ciara Blomenhous in St. George church. The deceased was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Heiss Court No. 159. of St. George church, and Holy Name Society of the parish.
Surviving are his widow, a daughter and two sons: Miss Bernadette Zimmerman, and Henry B., and Norbert P. Zimmermann, all of Kenosha, and by two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Sophia Lippertin Feb. 2, 1940.
ZIMMERMAN - Funeral Services for the late August F. Zimmerman of 6425 12th Avenue, will be held Friday morning, July 12th at 8:30 o'clock from the Mischler Home for Funerals and at 9:00 o'clock from St. James church. Interment St. James Cemetery. Friends may call after 7:00 o'clock Wednesday evening.
