Twila Teresa Schemmer, 77, of Anacortes, passed peacefully in the arms of her husband James A. Schemmer on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at her home.
She was born on November 14, 1929 in her home in Anacortes to Charles L. and Twila V. (Williams) Splain.
Twila touched all who knew her with her gentle spirit, sense of humor, adventure and endless faith. She will be forever missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Alexander Pempe.
Twila is survived by her husband James; brothers, Paul and Charles Splain; daughters, Teresa Robinson and Twila McDonnell of Bellingham, WA; Paula Schaefer of Gretna, NE, and sons Michael Schemmer and James T. Schemmer of Anacortes, and Mark Schemmer of Oak Harbor, WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shannon Schaefer, Marie Niebuhr, Caitlin, Amanda, and Anthony Schemmer, Twila Joselyn and Lawrence McDonnell, Cassandra, Jessica, Clara, Mark, and Solly Schemmer.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes and also from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anacortes. A Rosary Vigil will then follow at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anacortes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church with interment to follow at Grand View Cemetery. Father Vu Tran will be officiating.
