Norman T. Epping, age 70, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2003 at his home. He was born on February 14, 1933, the son of Sylvester and Leona (Richter) Epping. He married Jeanne May on February 2, 1957 in Burlington, Wis. Together they had six children. Norm served in the army for three years before attending the UW-Madison and graduating with a degree in Agricultural Journalism. He worked as an Editor for the Wisconsin Agriculturist for 22 years after which he enjoyed ushering at UW sporting events. He was a member of American Legion Post 360 in Waunakee and St. Johns Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, spending time with family and friends, following the Badgers and Packers and colorful discussion on any of the above. He is survived by his children, Greg (Kim) Epping, of Darien, Gary (Jane) Epping, of Waunakee, Nancy (Todd) Fishler, of Cumming, Ga., Jill (Dave) Richgels, of Waunakee, Ellen Epping, of Conway, Ark., and Julie (Doug) Deans, of Dane; his 19 grandchildren, Rion, Brittney, Zachary, Mallory, Stacey, and Alexandra Epping, Andrew, Austin, Parker and Gina Fishler, Brett Richgels, Gabriel, Jackson, Evan, Anthony, Michaela, Isaac, Bridget, and Ann Marie Deans; his sisters, Esther (Dick) Schmidt, of Waunakee, Romayne (Roger) Zeihen, of Waupaca, Lil (Ed) Roberts, of St. Louis, Mo., Judy (LeRoy) Schmidt, of Brookfield, and Barb (Mike) Wisnefski, of Kenosha; his brothers, Chuck (Sally) Epping, of Kenosha, Claude (Betty) Epping, of Salem, and Dale (Gladys) Epping, of Kenosha; many nieces and nephews and his brothers-in-law, Gene Robers and Elmer Ketterhagen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Eleanor Robers and Marge Ketterhagen. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at ST. JOHNS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Rev. Diego Cuevas will officiate. Friends may call on Monday, June 23, 2003 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the WINN FUNERAL HOME in Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove.
