Thomas Keegan, a well known and highly respected citizen of Lyons, dropped dead in front of the drug store of J.R. Adams yesterday afternoon about 4:30.
Willing hands picked the body up and carried it into the drug store. A physician was called, but upon examination found that the man was beyond all human aid, death having resulted from apoplexy. The remains were moved to Hobein's undertaking rooms and later to the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Ed. Breen, 410 North Second street, in this city.
Deceased was born in Ireland and was 61 years of age at the time of his death. For a number of years he resided on a farm near Bryant, moving to Lyons some five years ago.
He leaves besides many friends to mourn his death, five daughters and two sons. They are: Mrs. Ed. Breen, Jennie, Hester, Annie, Susie, James and Thomas Keegan.
The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
