KRANZBURG
Mrs. Margaret C. Richter, 91, Kranzburg, died Thursday afternoon at a Watertown nursing home. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be said at 1 p.m. Monday in the Holy Rosary Church of Kranzburg with the Rev. Fr. Gilbery Hess, OSB, officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Sunday in the church. An Altar Society Rosary will be at 3 p.m. Sunday and a rosary scripture service at 8 p.m., both events in the church.
Pallbearers are all grandsons, Leonard A. Richter, Kenneth Strohfus, Ronald Mack, Roger Jankord, Harold Tribitt and Pat Rueschenberg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mathiesen, Gergen, Rhodes and Wight Funeral Chapel of Watertown.
Mrs. Richter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Eilen, was born on Feb 28, 1888, at Bemis, Dakota Territory. She attended rural school near Bemis and married Albert B. Richter on Nov. 21, 1911, in Kranzburg.
The couple farmed near Kranzburg until Mr. Richter's death on Aug. 5, 1946. She continued to reside on the farm until 1962 when she moved into Kranzburg. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church and the Ladies Altar Society.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Ed (Loretta) Tribitt of Altamont, Sister Dolorita of Sacred Heart Convent in Yankton, Mrs. Lavina Strohfus of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. James (Alma) Mack and Mrs. Ray (Ethel) Zirbes, both of Castlewood, and Mrs. LaVerne (Helen) Rueschenberg of Watertown; two sons, Leonard of Watertown and Al F. of Kranzburg; one sister, Mrs. Mary Kaiser of Watertown; 39 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
